GOLDEN

Last week, my husband and I journeyed over to Leavenworth, WA.  Although most of the drive we experienced the tale end of the autumn colors, we did get our share of brilliance once we were walking on a path near the town.  It was a beautiful sunny day and the rays seemed to just sparkle on every leaf up in the sky while our feet crunched on the the fallen ones below.

At one point of the walk, I looked up to see this tree stand out from the rest, as it grew right next to the bank of the river and had no other tree blocking it from the glorious sun rays.  I looked up from the trunk to capture the depth of GOLDEN colors.

Now looking back, as I sit in front of the fireplace... also displaying an assortment of colors... I also begin to ponder my other fall favorites around the color gold... a few come to mind..

  •  candlelight evenings... from the shorter days
  • lemon .... although more of a summer flavor, I image a lemon pie in the oven
  • cornstalks from corn mazes
  • Clementines... which begin to arrive this time of year
  • School buses... :)
  • Golden blond curly locks ... of a little girl running to the bus.
  • Fireplaces... reading books with hubby

Two other cool facts from Wikipedia...

  1. "Gold represents wealth because the metal gold is valuable."
  2. "It also represents accomplishment, as when an athlete wins a Gold Medal at the Olympics or when a musician makes a Gold Record "

What fall activities/items come to mind when you look at the color GOLDEN?  Maybe you have part of your house with that color or a favorite childhood memory.  How does that color make you feel?  In the future,  I will be diving into more color studies and the physiology behind it.

Get out and enjoy this cold but sunny autumn and look for the GOLDEN!!!
